Fed: Business confident about working with Labor
CANBERRA, Nov 25 AAP - A key business group which actively campaigned against Labor's industrial relations platform says it is confident of a "very good relationship" with the new government.
The Business Council of Australia, along with a number of industry groups, ran an aggressive advertising program featuring heavy-handed trade unionists targeting small business.
Council president Greg Gailey said he was confident it could have a good working relationship with the Labor government.
"We made our position clear in relation to Work Choices or at least in relation to the issue or workplace flexibility and we've had our say," Mr Gailey told Sky News today.
"The issue on the agenda now ... is to work with the government to ensure the transition arrangements (are) appropriate and ... that the industrial relations framework ... is one which continues to increase performance and productivity.
"I would be fairly confident that the Business Council will have a very good relationship with the incoming government and that we will have many, many communications on a variety of issues.
"Quite frankly, we look forward to working with them in a very productive way to take this nation forward."
